So I'm 25 ( 26 March) have moved home after fleeing an abusive relationship and currently live on ESA with my 2 children 6 and 4. After financial abuse I have take out an IVA and surviving on next to nothing as the IVA is £96.98 every two weeks.
I'm struggling to do anything, let alone decorate, I left most my furniture as it was a 24 hour move, luckily a charity have recently gave us beds. Cosmetically there are no carpets but we have a got a rug in the lounge, and a neighbor gave us a 3 leg fridge, freezer and old washing machine.
My daughters go to the school that backs on the house one finishes at 12 which leaves nothing work wise until she starts school September.
My ideas to boost my income have failed
Matched Betting was extremely difficult to understand with Dyslexia plus I didn't have anything spare to put into it. I am still on Swagbucks and You Gov, FPL etc but barely making a margin. E bay became to expensive and was a lot of effort for a lot of nothing plus I moved with very little so have very little to sell.
My final idea is an ironing business we live realtivley rural and close to a large business headquarters ( lots of suits, shirts for meetings) and B&B's but I moved with absolutely nothing I don't have my own ironing board or iron let alone airers, storage etc. Could I get a loan to aid towards to the cost of starting up the business, I have looked into it but have my age restricting.
I'd also be grateful for any further advice, we have had 60p in the account for 8 days now and the next ESA payment will be the £96.98 leaving us with petrol, food, and the meter ( £32). I was a successful manager before this and feel so ashamed of my life at the moment.

Please don't feel ashamed you have done the right thing for both you and your children, the only person who should feel ashamed is the person who subjected you to such horrible abuse.
Have you spoken to the local domestic abuse services that can help with grants for extra furniture. the children's center and health visitor can also help you with food banks, grants and support. You could also contact social services who will be able to help you and your children get back on your feet.
I know you might find it hard to ask these services for help but please be reassured they deal with similar situations every day and they will never think badly of any woman who has been brave enough to take themselves and their children out of an abusive relationship. Things will be hard for a while but they will get better0
