you could of course give us the actual facts of your situation rather than have us guess
Thank you Clapton, but I think booksurr has clearly understood my error. There's nothing to guess. I just saw his calculation and read that you can deduct your PA from your income. And as long as that isn't > 42k you pay 20%. It's as simple as that.
I don't work in tax or finance as you can probably guess. It's an assumption I'd like to avoid, hence asking advice from the likes you, as the forum allows.0
