Best bike lock?

I got a bike for Xmas and after putting it off I took it out cycling today and actually really enjoyed it.
I plan to use it to commute to work but need a bicycle lock. I've had a look online but seem to get a lot of contradicting reviews. Can anyone recommend a bike lock?
Thanks

Can you leave the lock at work? Good locks are heavy so it's great if you can cycle without it and put it on when you get there. Ideally you want a covered place to leave it. Locks need a little lubrication every so often. I just put a bit of chain oil on mine every few months. You need to find somewhere sturdy to lock the bike to. The most valuable part of a bike is the frame, then the rear wheel and then the front wheel. Get a D-lock to go ground the frame and rear wheel and round a solid object. You can then use a cable or another D lock for the front wheel. I have a Abus Granit 54 for my frame and rear wheel and a Kryptonite KryptoLok Series 2 for my front wheel. All depends on the bike, the area, and your budget.0

it really depends on the cost of the bike, its desirability and the location where you leave it. but start by googling "sold secure gold"0

If you have somewhere at work or carry a ruck sake, I'd really recommend one of these, yes as any bike lock they can all get broken in to eventually, but this one can fit round a pole, back wheel and frame and leaves very little room for tools to by insterted to force it open

I know it sounds silly, but have a look at these vidoes on youtube, I lost a couple of expensive bikes befoe investing in the right locks and locking the right way

Where will you leave it at the work end - inside the building or in the street?0
