Car Leasing on DMP - Advice please

For the last 3years i have been driving a new car via a salary sacrifice work scheme.
I have just been offered a new job with a different company which means i will have to look for a new car.

I am currently halfway through a DMP with StepChange.

Is car leasing possible whilst on a DMP? anyone had a similar experience or can recommend a good leasing company?

Thanks for reading.

    Hi,

DMP`s are informal arrangements, so nothing will show in the public information section of your credit file.

However I would assume you have late payments/defaults on your financial accounts, so that may hinder you obtaining further credit.

All I can suggest is check your credit file and see what's there, different companies have different acceptance criteria.

You should also talk to Step Change about the impact this new credit could have on your DMP. If you were able to secure a new car for a similar monthly payment and running costs to what you have been paying/ sacrificing before then hopefully that would be ok (because it wouldn't have much impact on your SOA or change the creditors payments).

But be careful. If the new vehicle is going to cost a lot more than the old one that may affect how/if your DMP can continue. Best thing to do is talk to Step Change before taking on anything new.
