Nope you don't need a solicitor! Just pay off the mortgage and ask for the title deeds from the lender... deed despatch fee is approx £50. A final "bill" should show the amount remaining and amount payable for admin fee to end the mortgage (usually about £100-£150) and the amount payable for the deeds despatch fee (about £50).0 -
Thanks Riad, I was told by my lender that because of Scottish Law I must ask a solicitor to act on my behalf.0
