bit worried about my meeting with FA

Hi,

have recently decided on purchasing a property with my partner. we put an offer on one the other day and got accepted by the seller then saw a morgage advisor. i alreaddy knew what i could sort of get so was happy to make the offer. we had a chat about our situation, im 23 years old my girlfriend 22, i earn 45000 my partner 15000. but with over time i average a bit over 1000 a week. my only problem now is ive been talking to guys at work and tehre saying friends have been turned down for morgages for missing one credit card payment 2 years ago and other stories much the same. i can be definate but i am preety sure i missed a creditcard payment last may whislt on holiday and am now worried this is gonna ruin everything and we will get turned down for the morgage. is it rare for people to get turned down after the morgage advisor has been through all your details with ya.

we are after 178000 for the flat, 100%.

any advise greatfully recieved. we are going to see the Finantual advisor tommorow morning, how long after that will it be before i find out if i have been accepted?

Luke

Tell the adviser at the start. The adviser is there to advise you based on the facts you tell them. If you dont tell them, then the advice can end up being flawed. The adviser can also run off a credit check to see if it will be an issue or not.

Dont worry at all. Information passed around workmates is so often flawed. You should hear some of the comments "from workmates" that have been relayed to me over the years. Some of which have been highly damaging to those that took notice of them.

One missed payment should not cause too many problems.

    You should be fine

    Hi Luke,

2 weeks ago I applied for a mortgage, I arranged this through a broker as my credit rating is not great from a messy marriage separation. I had numerous late payments to my credit cards. Anyway I have been approved for a mortgage. My salary is much lower than yours too, so I wouldn't think you will have any trouble getting a mortgage.

    Good luck with your application!
