Hi , I have the chance of buying an extended semi which has a hair salon in the front room , it has always been a hair salon since I can remember (30 yrs) but closed over a yr ago due to the owner passing away . I can sell my own house and increase my lending to buy this little adventure no problem , but I need to know if I can still do this on a residential mortgage or do I need a commercial mortgage, any help would be greatly appreciated, I know it a strange one !!

Commercial use. Commercial mortgage. Property will be registered as such.
Going forward depends on what you propose to do with the property.0 -
I wanted to use the salon for just me to earn extra cash as I'm a hairdresser , then I can work around the kids schooling , but it's looking very complicated 0

They'll be options. The viability of the business is central though. Seek advice to guide you through everything. May come to nothing. Alternatively maybe the opening that you've been waiting for. Don't become starry eyed though.0

I read on the . Gov site that if you are actually living in the property you may just need residential mort , and the business is only extra cash . If business doesn't take off I can still afford mortgage .0
