Hello, can anyone who has had a follow up call, after applying for a loan, tell me what they asked?

    That's a bit of a vague question.

What sort of loan and from who?

Asked me the price of fish, what the weather was like and would I go for a drink.

I did - but that is because I have a protective CIFAS registration so I was expecting the call and I was asked:
    • Standard ID stuff - dob, full name (this differed slightly from the name on my mortgage as I had used a shortened version of my first name on this application - they just said they would change it at their end)
    • The name of my employer (as stated on my application form)
    • To name another credit card I had (to positively identify myself) - she was looking at my credit file at the time she said.

Oddly - I got instantly approved online also for 2 credit cards without any CIFAS checks - might need to look into why that was allowed to happen.
  • How can asking someone to remember what someone asked them be vague?
  • Johnnytwostep you make Michael McIntyre look funny, and that is saying something. What's an idiot like you doing on a financial site?

OK. I know of someone who applied for a loan from someone in Nigeria. They phoned him up and asked for his bank details and then emptied his bank account.
  • Was it via one of the major UK banks/lenders?
