what about the baked bean eating scene around the camp fire in Blazing Saddles0 -
Too late. He is already exhausted. Bad back, bad knees, bad wrist today. At this rate I may need to sell it & get a bungalow as he will not be able to manage the stairs. He is getting someone to put the roof on. He has done the triangle bits himself (can't remember their name)
He sounds sensible, sadly OH is on a 'manly mission' aka doing my head in!
The triangle bits are trusses and in-build (I think).
OH has build the block internal 1st and second floor walls (most of the bathrooms have brick walls) and 90% of the flooring is down - this is because it is cheap to do. No doors as the openings are huge so it will cost a lot. Although the stairs are designed, we need to get the floor insulation, underfloor heating and concrete screed in (this i the next big job... the doors will have to wait) x100 -

He is doing what he can himself as we are trying to keep th cost down. We do not have any floors down yet. No stairs or anything except breeze block walls inside. We have loads of doors as have bifold on front & pack & a balcony upstairs & a roof terrace. Not sure why we need both, but he totally designed it and the views are fantastic looking straight over to Durham. It should be finished next year as he wants to do most of internal himself.0 -
