May not be last one on the shelf for me if I can find my A with full price SEL - may then scan at 25p. Thanks for this: I'll have a look across the whole shelf to see if this shows higher price than the rest around it but is really 25p. It's invaluable information to help identify reduced items - and stores with unchanged SELs may hold out the best bet: I suspect they are just like M.
It is as usual no use adopting the method that the vast majority of people do of just going to a store and trying to work out which is the best item to buy from the items and prices showing in front of you. Firstly the prices showing may be either unchanged SELs (that ought to have been changed) or may be changed SELs in error (that is that should not have been changed). As a result, even looking at prices per unit and with a calculator will not give you the correct result, as some of the prices showing in front of you are incorrect. Secondly it will not tell you about offers at a competitor against which you should be comparing. So, it is completely hopeless to shop in this way (which the vast vast majority of people do:rotfl:).
Not only are the £2.50 peanuts £1, but one of the shoppers in M (normally it's a story from the till with me, but this time it's a story from one of the aisles) was looking around for dog food. And :rotfl:she just happened, randomly indeed, to pick the right one!:D:rotfl::rotfl::T Normally they get it so wrong. There were three £1.57 dog food cans in front of her - and she picked up the very flavour, the £1.57 can that is £1.12:rotfl:. I bet she got charged the lower price at the till - and most likely doesn't realise she paid less than what she took it off the shelf as I doubt people remember what price the SEL really showed and what they took it at, unless they were specifically seeing that it was a good item - or, if she did realise, probably got what came to her as an unexpected lower price at the till. I only knew the price from the previous store - and saw her take the exact right flavour:T. The others are on £1.57 - not trusting my previous store on those:rotfl:, I took one of them to the till - in fact the one that had no price label at all there - and it was £1.57:(. Or something higher than £1.12 at any rate - I don't remember the exact higher price:rotfl:.
Separately, and rather randomly from me I know, Bernard Matthews Turkey Dinosaurs and Golden Drummers, after fortunately not that long at full price, have gone back to £1 in M again. Obviously won't work on the APG just yet:rotfl:. But that seems helpful for not too long away - although sadly the McCain Micro Chips have not gone back down to that price.0 -
