So, as you may have gathered - "hoping that something like this works..." - I did decide to go to A in the event. Whilst I was driving back, I thought that I had not got nearly enough sweetcorn on the one shop that I did - I only got four sachets and the amount of gs. in them - maybe I ought to have got far more to last, as really that's just four evenings of meals covered:(. However, I have got what I have got and I would of course still have been paying for any additional ones.

I have enough trouble with the wombles when they buy things that compare somewhat more expensively elsewhere. Look at this one:( - it's been found just now but the receipt is dated 21st January - if only they had bought the Fox's Party Rings now, when they are 50p in M (49p in T), rather than back then when, according to the APG, M was full price:mad::

**DISCLAIMER This receipt is from 21st January 2016 and is NOT current information**

15 items (11 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda morrisons
    1x Fox's Party Rings (125G) £0.50 £1.14:mad:
    1x Jammie Dodgers Original (140G) £0.50 £0.53
    1x ASDA Smartprice Self Raising Flour (1.5KG) £0.45 £0.45
    1x Fray Bentos Chicken & Bacon Pie (425G) £1.00 £1.00
2x ASDA Chosen By You Pear & Blackberry Double Strength Squash (1.5LT) £2.50 £2.00
    2x Cow & Gate Tuna Penne (250G) £1.50 £1.66
    1x Cow & Gate Chicken Sunday Lunch (250G) £0.75 £0.97
    1x Oreo Peanut Butter Biscuits (154G) £0.50 £0.50
    2x Cow & Gate Orchard Chicken (250G) £1.50 £1.66
    1x Cow & Gate Mamma's Macaroni (250G) £0.75 £0.99
    2x Cow & Gate Beef Stew (250G) £1.50 £1.66
Comparison total (compared products only) £11.45 £12.56
    cheaper +£1.11

Actually, the Fray Bentos is now much higher priced in M - would not want them buying that now:rotfl:. But they should have bought the Princes Pies instead, as they are £1 in M. If only I could have explained this to them. Their response maybe - "But we don't like Princes Pies":wall:.

Of course with the Princes Pies now being £2.09 in A they would never buy those, instead pick the Fray Bentos on rollback:(:wall: and thus end up wiping any APG out. If they even get enough items - one tonight, lots of items, but several duplicates of different items - but only seven different items:(. It is doubtless planned that way. Mr A knows how many different items people usually get in order to disqualify their shops and not have to pay anything out - even if they have bought correctly in our way. Of course in any event the shopper does not check the APG so has given all they have paid to Mr A and has not even got their 15p:( back.

A couple of those squashes again, that are/were comparing to M at £1 each, this time two of a same version, in their shop! They really like to go for the same sort of items - and, clearly, vs M, overpay. N/A against T this time though on this flavour:rotfl:. Absolutely no need, if you are using the APG, to get that unnecessary mbuy, unless you really need two, as, against M, buying two simply costs twice as much as buying one. (Logical!) The mbuy makes absolutely no saving on a comp. vs M - it is still a more expensive (than M) payment in the first place and you might as well just have one and get full price for that comp. vs one only at M and put the full lot onto the APG (rather than having an mbuy saving on there that, effectively, reduces the APG but then timeses that amount by 2 as that's the number bought - it may be less APG for two than one - I don't know, I haven't looked at the A individual price).

It was showing Sains as 50p on Party Rings - I did now know about this - so could I have bought one of those on my shop against S (always a difficult shop for me to do) earlier?

      99p

Fortunately not, as it now seems S is 75p.:)

In A, I would really like them to get off that 50p price:mad: as soon as possible - and preferably onto an 'unseen' mbuy. I think we do - in order to ensure the muggles buy it for us on wombles, we need a nice high individual price and a really promoted, nice big red border labels on the shelves - red hand pointing to it please! - Fox's Party Rings at a higher price of 2 for £1.50! We need them to think 'ooh that's good' and pick them up in twos and then have nice £1.15 twice (or four times or more!) vs T or even M now! Sadly :(they remain stubbornly at 50p (and probably for ages until the very moment that I am not looking:(). Even with that item though, they still weren't 10% cheaper!

Oh dear:(. I wouldn't trust the OOS markings on msm - if a product is OOS it may compare for up to 7 days on the APG. Which is a good thing if the item is/was really cheap price elsewhere and has completely become unavailable - and the beggar does not appear again in the meantime on the competitor's website at a higher price:eek::( - but if the item was 'last seen' at higher price, and then goes OOS, the high price may be kept in the system for 7 days:(. Sometimes the OOS markings on msm really mean that the product is OOS at that price but the item really has appeared back on the retailer's website and either msm hasn't picked it up yet or msm has picked it up but not linked it back to the A product - it can then be found on msm, in this case if you switch to shopping in T and look for it there - it may magically appear:( and all of a sudden shows T at high price and not a lower price and OOS. So it can mean OOS at the price showing, but has appeared at a higher price (maybe an offer has just ended and msm is yet to update completely) and is showing at that higher price somewhere else on msm (such as the competitor's 'side' of the site) and in stock. It may not be showing on t.com for you as it may not be available in your area but may be available elsewhere and picked up from there.

I am hoping something like this works, but works in my favour, for me soon.

Were you hoping this was N/A? Really I would not risk things being N/A as they may be picked up from elsewhere and compare very badly indeed:(. You can have a good look at the competitor's website - sometimes items can appear if they are described slightly differently and you haven't got the 'right' search term - you can do a thorough search and be 'sure' and sometimes this does work if you know for definite the competitor has never stocked an item and know exactly what you are buying with care but I've been caught out by this sort of thing myself - quite a long time ago fortunately - but at T when I bought an item that wasn't stocked at any of my As and yet was available in A, nearly a pound more expensively:(, somewhere else.

Mys.com is largely irrelevant but i was double checking there as i couldn't find it by name or in the category on t.com. I was hoping for n/a. I actually paid £3.54 too as i clearly was distracted at some point wouldn't have spent 30p on sweets if i didn't think i needed them No idea what i was doing there. :(

16 items (7 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda Tesco

    1x Ambrosia Organic Rice Pudding (400G) £0.50 N/A

I guess £4.98 for £65.32 of stuff with 55p cashback and £22.17 apg isn't that bad but i'm used to paying less than £1 in cash nowadays.

I guess £4.98 for £65.32 of stuff with 55p cashback and £22.17 apg isn't that bad but [1] i'm used to paying less than £1 in cash nowadays.

I still use msm as it is still good as a price comparison website, as you can see competitor's prices on there (that obviously they won't give you on the individual retailer's websites). (I was going to say "all the competitor's prices" there, but we know that there are still some missing, not least all of Lidl, but also quite a lot of Morrisons prices, simply because M don't sell those products through m.com online.)

The distraction shops:( - that's what the retailers are hoping for:D:(:(! (Worst shops of all, I think, can be those where you have kids in tow - never a good idea to take children to the supermarket if you want to save money - or have other family wanting you to buy things that don't go against your competitor, or are plain expensive anyway even if they do.)

[1] :rotfl:Yes, I can see that myself. In fact, Stephen, the wombler, who said he paid about 60% of his shopping by wombles, I think mine is nearer 100%:rotfl:. I'm pleased about your Organic Rice Pudding - 50p eh?:D Risking a double, or more than double, the price one there if T had turned out to sell it. It's on offer in the store you were shopping at:(:question::think:. In other words - not a good idea unless it definitely is N/A (and unless it's on offer at a good price in itself).

I wouldn't even regard msm as a "double check". Even after msm, if it came back no return, I would remain unconvinced that something wasn't there (and even more so with Morrisons which, given my circumstances, I would either know or would not trust msm's no return) - and we know, at times, items can be on the grocery websites (in relation more so to T, S and W, I don't even begin with msm for M) but even less will they be likely to be on msm. (We used to have lots of triggers that were on a.com but hadn't made it through to msm at the time when that was used.)

The fact the product is on msm but is showing "OOS" would have been an immediate alert for me to steer clear of it and not risk picking up the supposedly OOS (or a higher) price. Clearly, msm showed you something beyond what you could find on t.com. At that point, msm showing it - even if (allegedly) OOS - would have made it, I think, a no-go for me. We can all talk after the event. Maybe I am too cautious - or maybe not given the shop I've done earlier:rotfl: [results now below at 2.17]. It is there as a reminder for the future though.

Womble information vs M - receipt dated 10/02/16:

At least I am on the same hymn page as the APG on this (this was a 'new entry' on my list on Monday - probably prompted by someone buying another garlic/herb product that they thought would return M N/A:o - the embarrassment because I was prompted and I may have 'missed' this otherwise):

    1x ASDA Garlic & Herb Baguettes (430G) £1.00 £1.02

This (below) also compares best against M. This hasn't been making my list, due to prices on Radish at Aldi/Lidl in the past being a lot better than these prices - usually very rare and shortlived offers - but to let you know this is best vs M - indeed currently is the only comp. on which it gives any APG (W and S both 60p):

    1x ASDA Grower's Selection British Radishes (200G) £0.45 £0.45

Also the tinned Tomato Puree (A own brand 142g), as we saw earlier, compared against M at 35p. Not on my list as M have been possibly 3 for £1 a long time ago before:wall: (you may bang your head at me therefore deciding not to put it onto the list - indeed, if you only need one - for the 2p saving in M against previous ages-ago mbuy - it would be best just buying the one rather than paying more than individual price for one by getting a further two, even if then technically each would have been effectively cheaper. :(:(:mad:A now put its price down to 35p so not as much APG anymore! And, of course, not 10% cheaper:( - so to prise the 3.5p out of them for being overcharged compared to their guarantee (vs M), you now need to buy a further 7 different items minimum that don't lose against M:mad:. Sains now 30p according to msm:D;):eek::rotfl::rotfl:, do we trust it?:eek::rotfl: I think this is why it doesn't reach the M list at 35p M price even at times when S back at 35p - there have been better prices to look for than 35p, so it's not at my guide price, indeed the 30p now - msm suggests that S have been 20p during two periods in the last twelve months.)

    Expensive Granola!:eek::eek:

    1x Fuel Chocolate Loaded Chunky Granola (400G) £2.98 N/A
    1x Fuel Fruit Loaded Chunky Granola (400G) £2.98 N/A

Way to go - small packs (or what I assume to be) at nearly £3 each!:( Only one of which compares against T at £2.99 and therefore isn't 10% cheaper than T. Doesn't mean that, even if they get the overall "10% cheaper than everywhere else hooray", they haven't spend a lot of money on expensive fillers!

And they now buy this:mad:, now it has gone back up to full price at M:

1x Douwe Egberts Pure Indulgence Dark Roast Coffee (190G) £3.50 £6.57:(

Oh well, they've "saved", their shop is more than 10% cheaper!:j:D:mad::wall::(

Time for trepidation again as I enter my receipt...
    Will my risk work?:eek::eek::eek::eek:

    :j:j:j
    Yes!:j:D Asda vs Sainsbury's - get in!:D:T:T

    1x ASDA Freshly Frozen Garden Peas (1.8KG) £2.25 £0.39:T:T:T:D:j

I need all the help I can get... with Sainsbobs otherwise being so dear (on items I couldn't buy because Sains prices are so high and I am therefore stopped from buying against them:mad:)!

9 items (8 different) on your receipt qualify for comparison Asda sainsbury's
    1x Green Giant Original Sweet Corn (205G) £0.98 £0.50
    1x ASDA Freshly Frozen Garden Peas (1.8KG) £2.25 £0.39
    1x ASDA Smartprice Corn Flakes (500G) £0.25 £0.25
0.14x ASDA Grower's Selection Loose Banana (order by number of bananas or select kg) (PER KG) £0.10 N/A
    1x ASDA Smartprice Mixed Vegetables (1KG) £0.77 £0.80
3x Green Giant Salt Free Sweet Corn (205G) £2.94 £1.50
    1x ASDA Smartprice Sliced White Loaf (800G) £0.36 £0.40
    1x Kit Kat Chunky Milk (40G) £0.58 £0.40
    1x Kit Kat 4 Finger Chocolate Bar (45G) £0.58 £0.40 [Wine Gums:D]
Comparison total (compared products only) £8.71 £4.64
    +4.07 cheaper

Lost a couple of pence on the banana perhaps - but it's probably roughly equivalent to Sains. being 1.8Kg on the peas rather than 1.81Kg and I did not want there to be not enough items. We only really needed the bread:rotfl:. Even though that was showing OOS for me on msm earlier, so I thought it might even be a no-show:eek: (and, at least A has put its price back down on that - maybe :(merely feeling the Aldi/Lidl effect). No, we (I on behalf of my household) did need the other items - they'll be useful at some point or will last anyway.

Pretty expensive SP Mixed Veg:eek: - don't why I bought that:rotfl:. We did need it - but, really, with Carrots elsewhere able to be got cheaper fresh or with full Broccoli vs M at 38p?:think:

There was a method behind my madness, on the peas - which didn't turn out to be mad at all in the event!:T

I can't guarantee this will keep remaining the same (sains.co.uk I note suggests the offer on the peas is on even well into March:huh:) but, as long as the situation on sains.co.uk remains as it is now, it ought to keep picking it up - if it has Sains as OOS then for up to 7 days (again, as long as sains.co.uk remains the same - 40p and OOS and the product does not at any time reappear on sains.co.uk at some higher price - if it does, that is likely to overwrite the APG data and if it is picking up 40p from sains.co.uk from somewhere in stock, then it should keep continuing 'forever' - in other words as long as it is still 40p in stock on sains.co.uk and that the price does not change on there. I hope it doesn't go down:rotfl:).

So, I got over half my shopping bill back:T and of course that's due to the 10% extra and everything being half price somewhere else isn't it?;):rotfl::T:T:)

I thought this comp. vs the peas stood a chance. Remember when my Surf failed?:( - in a way I was right there too as I thought it might probably fail and I lost a lot more there - but in effect managed to make it up - or at least just to T's price - with a womble soon afterwards and, tbh, I would not have gone looking for wombles at that time if I had had enough back from that shop so it probably was extra to what I would have got. If the peas had failed, at least we now have some better-grade peas and at A's rollback price:wall:. Maybe that will help us on the wombles:D - they do like to overpay:rotfl:! That said, when Sains. was clearing out some condoms packs at £4 (which was not my price:D), I did hope that someone would buy them on a womble for me at £13:eek: in A - but they never did:(. I was about to post that I just needed to find a £2.25 womble now:rotfl:.

And, hey, I can't get more peas as our freezer is now full! Blame the lack of the Quorn for finishing early for those peas!:( It's useful, we needed some peas at some stage - instead of the hellishly expensive:D "Smart"price Peas - Morrisons gone down to 68p (down by a further penny) on its 900g version btw - they won't be compared to - and unnecessarily expensive anyway:rotfl::rotfl:. Those CBY Garden Peas will now taste very much nicer indeed!:D

(I just retrieved late last night a shop I had prepared on msm in the morning and realised I had enough items vs Sains anyway and then, although moments after careful analysis of sains.co.uk and msm from all angles though and then a thought "what do you reckon?" to which, I again thought, "hmmm, they might work", I just then, moments later, had a daft moment of thought that the peas might work so, without thinking further about it, I just off the hoof went out for the shop. I wished the peas good luck for about a second when first pulled them out of the freezer in the store:rotfl:. But, maybe, my not wishing them further luck at the SS helped seal them as good for me!:D)
