Save your time hunting in W today, free Tate offers have disappeared off CS and CoS.

The end date was 12/2 then 10/2 - either it ended early or they are now interpreting end date as 00.01 on the date stated :(.

This was a great promo for the 8 people or so per store who could find the limited stock, otherwise rubbish for everyone else as W were clearly not geared up with extra stock.

  • Good morning all, grotty day here, can't decide if it's going to rain or not

Mhoc, I bet you are going mad with all those changes!

Like HG we got engaged on 23rd April and got married on 20th October the same year, we had been going out for more than 3 years prior to getting engaged.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I ought to be informed, in advance, whether my missing cashback claim will be successful too. I bought an insurance policy for over £100, expecting £80 cashback, but - as expected (the window opened up a new screen and that was the only way that it would let me purchase anything:() - the cashback has not tracked:(:(.

I need to know right now, in advance, whether it will be declined or not so I can decide whether to cancel the policy and move to another policy which I could get from somewhere else for about £30 less (but which has no cashback). I don't need anyone here to tell me whether to cancel the policy - I think I will stick with it and risk 'losing' the £30 - but, in a "perfect information" world I would have the information so that I could make proper, fully informed decisions without distorting the way the market should function - and ensuring that the miscreants (which they will become should they eventually decline the cashback) do not get rewarded for their failure whilst their competitors (that would have been cheaper for me in that circumstance) lose out.

The insurance policy already, if I went direct to their website, they wanted to charge me over £70 more!:eek: Only when I went via a comparison site, and forced them to be more competitive, did they put their price down. Obviously I am more risky if I approach them direct and not via any comparison site!:( The woman I spoke to on the phone - in order to work out how to proceed and ensure that I properly did everything exclusively online myself - actually apologised for their rate being much lower via the comparison site. She obviously meant it. Like hell!

It is obviously, IMO, a deliberate tactic by the company to make as much money as possible and make more from people who do not look around. Companies sometimes don't let you use saved quotes. However, there was nothing mentioned in the terms on this one - nothing said I can't (and she suggested they would still give the cashback from a saved quote)! It was the same about windows opening up new screens if I went direct btw - there was no other way. Maybe I don't have much faith in some systems at all, but I expect things not to work and I am therefore not disappointed when they don't.

"We're sorry it didn't work as expected." Well, I expected it not to work and therefore it went entirely according to my low expectation:p:rotfl:. Sadly. ("Bet it won't work!" I thought:(. I'd have been surprised if it had! So I sat around for a week waiting for it not to track, just like I expected it not to! And, guess what, it hasn't:(.)

I hope the next bit works though!

I'm in the same position. Bought a policy, it hasn't tracked, have 14 days to cancel the policy. I've put in a tracking claim, so hopefully it will eventually track.

    Wine!!!

The 6 for £25 wine offer looks to be finishing, but the apg should see full price.:)

There are too many wines for me to go through and compare, but I am sure there will be some good comparisons. Perhaps if anyone finds any they could post them please!

    Any good comparisons yet!:)

I am following the Mother of the Bride discussion very intently as it is something I am going to have to tackle this year possibly ...

What exactly is the traditional get up - whatever it is, I am sure it's not me.

I think the only dress shape that suits me now is a straight up and down shift. And then I would need a jacket and this is also an issue

Also I can see words being exchanged - I might look at East, Coast, Monsoon, Hobbs even - they are expensive enough but I hate the thought of spending as much on an outfit for a day as I would on a weekend away :)
Eldest child will expect me to be in some uncomfortable designer creation

Out of that list, I would choose Coast, they have a great range at the moment. Always worry that someone else will turn up in the same Monsoon dress, East seems a bit hippy (as in folk songs rather than fattening!), Hobbs I've never been able to find anything.

How about a lesser known make from the department stores. I love the name Damsel in a Dress john Lewis have a whole category of wedding guest dresses

I drooled when I saw the shortbread ending savvy sal, but as you say, no good comparisons. Same with the Ainsley Harriott Croutons, Princes Tuna Steak and the Ospray Craisins :(:(
