Well we still have no landline. The phone rings and you pick it up but it won't connect - tommorow it is going to drive new bats enough to start unplugging the phones.
I went onto the sky we pages but the link for chat never shows. I got in touch with sky help on twitter but they only direct you back to the same help pages where I'd just come from.
OH managed to ring them and they got in touch with BT open reach. Apparently its a level 2 problem so they are digging the road up, no idea where as our side of the road exchange cabinet is 3 miles away. Sky are ringing us back with a progress report on 21/02 so potentially we have no landline for 2 weeks
I tried to use the online instructions to divert landline calls to my mobile but as we have no dial tone it did not work. OH rang sky but apparently they can't divert from their side. In the old BT days they could - if calls could be diverted I would not mind so much
Our broadband seems fine and the satellite is fine as well
If it's only spam calls you get what's the point in diverting the calls?
Voicemail is held on a server so if anyone leaves you a message you it'll still be there when your landline works again. The only time it would be a problem is if you have a physical answer machine. No point over complicating things when you don't need to :cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Sounds like a cable is shorting out somewhere mhoc, probably the rain got into a connection. The silly thing is when BT buried their cables they did not put them into conduit, which means they do not have an easy way to replace them!
As for your broadband, that may continue or it may steadily become non-existent.
At least they have BT onto it, the amount of times we have gone out to a customer's house where BT have tested the line and found that there is no dial tone :eek:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

:hello: Good evening:j.
The amount of time taken to try to establish M's pricing today:mad::mad: - I'll send you the bill later:rotfl:. Just so many conflicts, on a small minority of items (it always is;)) and information not clear enough for me. The problem is that, even if, according to the SELs, a mbuy appears to be off, and I go to a second store and see it isn't showing on the shelf there either, I still don't trust what I'm seeing!
See what mean - until a moment ago, I thought this mbuy was now off (none of my three stores today showing it on the shelf):
Osprey Tuna Flakes in Brine (185g)
58p 2 for £1.00 31.4p / 27p / 100g Valid until 14/02/2016
According to that, it still has nearly another week to run.
On another mbuy in store, my first store was useless in telling me whether it was on or not - no mbuy showing but they never show the offers in that section of the store! So, it didn't trust it. Second store - no mbuy. Even if I have both stores not displaying the mbuy I still don't trust either of them and :(still can't take that as any indication that the mbuy has ended. I get to the third store and... mbuy showing and valid until 14/2!
I now think the Tuna Flakes mbuy is on, even though I've seen no store that has displayed it today. At least two of the stores - possibly all of them (I don't remember) - were showing the mbuy last week so I have no idea why it appears they have removed it. (I suppose a customer could have knocked the signage and it fallen off, but I reckon it is M staff deliberately - maybe HQ were going to pull it then changed their mind - I have no idea? Maybe the other mbuy has been pulled, early, and the one store showing it should not be - a bit like the appearing and disappearing Blackjacks mbuy - they are removed one day and then get put back again even in the same store:mad:. The Garlic may have done a similar thing with its price, but...anyway, more of that in another post later maybe.)
Some of what might be thought to be the main offers are still on, for example the Head & Shoulders, and others have ended. Apparently. If I am to trust the SELs:rotfl:.
The Dr. Oetker pizzas in M might have been back on again, of sorts. Now 2 for £3 in M; however I notice T is £1.50 and that A is useless £1.50:mad::mad: as well!:p:rotfl:
However I think we prefer certain Chicago Town pizzas at the moment!
I think people are ending up paying too much for the meal deal:rotfl:. The Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream in M has gone down from £2.50 to £2.00:rotfl:. The relevant Chicago Town pizzas have also gone down in M by a few pence.
So it may be better to wait until the M prices have been updated. My own thought is that, as long as the deal in still available from A, this should continue to compare from full prices as that is the way the system works. So, also, that womble I had, with the meal deal:T, has, again, lost me money! Cathedral Cheese was bought too late on the other one and the meal deal was bought too early:mad::rotfl:.0 -
