We were told no PPI no mortgage that was the Halifax who also conned us into having their overpriced insurance of nearly £700 per annum, added to that they made us pay to change to a cheaper policy with another company!Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I've just successfully claimed from Norwich and Peterborough - very easy and I had a good case as at the time my employee had critical employee insurance so would have got paid if I was ill. I was off ill for nearly 3 months and was paid all through and they accepted that - the person who dealt with my claim was very sympathetic and they refunded 6 years of payments plus interest !! - however I've tried with the Halifax and it's a very different - mainly as they are using off shore call staff to deal with it - my initial claim has been rejected - in letter they told me they'd tried phoning "several times" - we got one answer phone message which was so faint - I tried calling back only to be told that the case had been closed and the claim had been rejected without giving me the chance to discuss it - I have appealed so will see what happens !!0

You don't have to complain via telephone and your complaint has not failed because of "off-shore call staff".
You do not call to "discuss" the complaint further after it is rejected, you next option is to refer it to the Ombudsman if you remain dissatisfied.
Sounds to me like you should have put your case in writing to avoid any mis-understanding.0 -

Critical illness cover doesnt overlap with MPPI. So, if its CIC then you shouldnt have had the complaint upheld for that reason. Or is it a key man income protection policy? That would significantly overlap with MPPI if it has a low deferment period. So, I could see that resulting in a successful complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
