Anyone had any success commodity/share/forex trading- particularly on Plus 500 or similar?

I had some success share dealing around the end of 2008 to mid 2009.
Since then I have been drop feeding small amounts of spare cash into shares as a longer term investment. This will be saved until I retire in 9 years or so.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080
