I started up on my own in October 2013. I did a lot of research and ultimately ended up with a small network. I think the firm you have mentioned are a lot smaller than the one I have ended up with but I love the fact they are smaller. I was previously with Intrinsic and the difference is unbelievable.

Intrinsic everything is done for the masses, your cases are scored, the systems are a lot more personalised etc. The smaller networks, everything is personalised. If I have a case that is not up to scratch, they pull me on it and get me to get it up to par. I know all of the compliance people and head of compliance and the sales director and better still, they know me. Intrinsic would not have cared about me as a 1 man band, I was small fry to them.

Smaller networks in my opinion are far better, I had more options than you as I had CAS but do not underestimate the smaller the firms. They are like you in comparison to one of the large firms where people are employed and just another number.

He may have loved me...if he knew I existed. Thats not me having a go at Intrinsic for not knowing I existed. They had 1000+ ARs, its a little unreasonable to expect the top brass to know the brokers who produce 1-2 cases a month, which is all I was doing back then. But it is nice ot be under a network where the head of compliance, compliance and the sales director know me and my business.

Who are you with if you don't mind me asking ACG. I had a look at Intrinsic, I was going to go as an RI of Charles Derby group but the split was 50/50, they couldn't tell me what admin support despite asking several times apparently they were going to tell me once my application was in???! They also couldn't tell me if I was able to take ALL my protection cases on non indemnity. Said they would provide "some leads" but could not be specific and then told me I'd only earn 30% on them. I then checked out the intrinsic reviews and felt they were too corporate for my liking. I thought the Charles Derby proposition was a joke. I used to be an AR of Pink when they were a bit smaller and they were nice to work with. Sesame however - I will not repeat what I said to the compliance officer on one of their visits. How I didn't slap him one is a miracle.

Interesting that you like the marketing side of things as that is where many brokers do very little imaginatively or proactively.

This might make you a good fit with the DA firm. Them getting your back up to speed on advice, you brightening up their marketing.
