Am I doing anything wrong

When posting elsewhere it did have the option to select who you were posting as. So it would say your name and you could change it to the page name. As you personally are part of the group it should allow you to post.

However, I just looked on my own account and can't see that option. What I can do is view my pages and click login. It had an error but refreshing the page it now shows me logged in as that page.

So it might be that you need to do that. Not sure if you'd have to then try joining the selling group or whether it'll recognise the page is yours and you'll already be joined based on your personal account.

Clicking the black arrow it gives me options of who I want to use Facebook as (myself or pages I've created) so you can easily switch between the two.

Seems an odd and long way round of doing things compared to a simple drop down menu on the post as before but ah well lol.

I'm thinking the best thing is not to advertise on facebook at all and just rely on selling the cars direct from the sales site. Can't risk doing anything wrong

You should be able to post as the business page. It just might require rejoining the group. Once you've done that you can post as before, just under the business name.

Wherever you post you need to do so under the business name and only use the one name.

Thanks for all your help - i've tried to look every way i can to post under the business page but can't seem to be able to. When I choose to use my facebook as the business page all the links on the right hand side - groups i've joined etc - aren't there. There isn't the option to search facebook for friends/groups from that page. We've just chatted about it and decided not to do it. It just seems a shame that we're trying our best to make a living, thinking we're doing everything above board but seems we're not.

When you're logged in at that page you use the search bar at the top of the page. Search for the selling group, same as you did originally to find it on your personal account.

Like I said, you may have to join again. Having looked a bit more on mine it would seem you do need to rejoin under that name. All that means is clicking join.

Once you've joined again you can post under the business name. No issues.

It's not the case that you're not doing everything above board, it's that it may not seem as though you are to potential customers who are wondering why you're using two business names. No matter where you sell that'll be the case which is why you need to be sure you only use one name for everything involving the cars.
