Two months since my BR date!

I can't believe it is been over 2 months since I went BR! (21st June 2007 - the longest day in more ways than one :o )

Hasn't been the easiest time, a bit of a rollercoaster at times, but my life is certainly better for me and my little lad since I had my 'lightbulb' moment!

The continuous phone calls have ceased, the fear of opening my letters has stopped and I manage to get some sleep at night - when my son let's me (four year old who wants to watch Postman Pat at five o'clock in the morning!)

I have been living with my mum who has been an absolute diamond and her support has got me through some really rough times - so thank you mum xx:A.

Beginning to learn how to budget, although a bit difficult at times, but I am enjoying the challenge!

All in all, my decision although hard and terrifying was the best thing I have ever done and I want to thank again all the guys on this forum who have helped me over the last few months - you know who you are :T - you are a great bunch and have kept me going when I was having wobbles, paranoia, terror, you name it I did it and bought the T-shirt!

If there is anyone out there who needs, help support and advice you cannot come across a nicer group of people than on this forum, they will point you in the right direction.

So thanks again guys! :A

I have to agree with Richard. That really was a lovely heartening post Jules. :)

But I do notice that you have been doing your own fair share of helping people in the depths of the difficult situations we find ourselves in, so you deserve a thankyou back from everyone you have encouraged as well. :D

Keep us updated with how you get on, since the "Living with it" part of this forum is just as important as the "Bankruptcy" part.

What a great post - really encouraging for all those currently where we were 2 or 3 months ago.

    It's really OK isn't it!
  • Aw Jules, a lovely post, and full of the ups & downs of BR but i'm glad its all worked out for the best
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

hi Jules, me and my mrs are in court on thursday and she is absolutely bricking it. I just shouted her to come and read your post in an effort to show her that things do work out in the end.

    Thank you,

    Taib0
  • Just wanted to say thank you for posting Jules, it really is helpful even though I've now gone BR, am still awaiting the OR bit, so it's comforting to read anything about other people's experiences.

I hope you stay around for a bit (ignoring the nasties) and wish you all the best for your new start :)

Thanks guys, I think you have just proved my point of what a nice bunch of people are on this forum!

Richard - thank you for your lovely comments - yes the light at the end of the tunnel does seem a bit brighter now. :D

Fermi - you are a sweetie, giving support and encouragement on here really helps me give something back, as I was helped so much myself when I didn't know where to turn, but as I haven't been around for a little while I think the regular posters on here like yourself deserve a lot of credit and thanks for what you do every single day :A

User - hi hun, yes it really can be okay and it's seems amazing that we are now in September and the days have passed so quickly since our dates, hope you are doing okay and things are going well for you . :D

Hi tigerfeet and bltn - hope you are both doing okay and thank you, will try and post a bit more often now. :D

hi to you and your wife taib0, good luck for Thursday - you will be fine and please post on here if you need any help either before or after if you can't get your head round something as there is always someone out there who can help or point you in the right direction! Take care of yourselves and let us know, when you can, how you got on. xx :j

Bless you Pixie, will certainly be sticking around. I wish you well with the OR, I am sure you will be absolutely fine. I remember feeling dreadful before the interview, but they are just people doing a job and are there to help you get through to the next stage. Prepare your paperwork beforehand and write down any questions you may have at the end, oh and a big bar of chocolate and a glass of wine later I found was a big help! Let us know how you get on. :D

Take care everyone and have a good weekend!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Time really does fly once you're BR. I think it's because you don't have the debt pressure on your mind any more, so you get on with doing other things & before you know it another month has passed. Well done. :)

Thanks wdiag, you are so right!

Before my date all I could think about all day and all night were my debts, it was all consuming and unbelievably stressful!

Now that stress has been removed, the days have flown by and my life has sort of got back to normal - whatever normal is!
