What's MBNA's game?

Don't know if anyone remembers but I posted a few weeks that MBNA had blocked my account as they were deeply concerned about my level of debt.....so concerned that they couldn't reduce the APR on it so I could pay it off quicker!

Anyway I subsequently had a letter from them confirming that my account was blocked and if, by the time the balance was paid off the account was still blocked, the account would be considered closed.

Fortunately since then I've been able to do several balance transfers away from MBNA onto low rate life time of balance transfers or 0% balances fo rnew cards.

However in the last couple of days I've had loads of communications from MBNA telling me the benefits of using my card etc.

Seems they're only concerned about my level of debt when the debt is with them.....but its going to be so good to tell them where to get off......eventually!

  • I cant quite understand mbna.In May I paid overy £3000 off my cc and left about £400 on it.At that time my limit was £500 with 0% interest until december.I paid the £3000 so I could use it to pay for my new car.As soon as I had paid it they reduced my limit to £500, when I rang and asked why they said my credit score had gone down, I dont know how i had not missed any payments, not had any credit scores done and not taken out extra credit. They then said why did I want the £5000 limit ,I said to purchase a car they then said ring at end of month and we will reinstate it.They probably knew I wouldnt pay that amount off before 0% finished.I didnt ask for it to be reinstated.
