What's the general consensus on getting a new job before applying for a mortgage.
The job would be in the same industry, higher pay and around 2-3 months before the application. There won't be a gap in employment and the reason for changing jobs is career progression.

Its not usually an issue if the mortgage application is well managed.
Be sure to discuss with your broker/lender before applying for the new jobI am a Mortgage Adviser

My brother in law has just had a mortgage approval - he is starting a new job in April so this was obviously taken into account.
He is a newly qualified accountant and is around 24 years old just as reference. AND expecting a baby so they will obviously allow mortgages so long as they know all the details.
You may find you are slightly more restricted on which banks that will offer you a mortgage though. That's just something I have read online, not sure if it was the same for brother in lawMortgage - £124,903 Sept 2016-Jan 2017 OP target £1,750/[STRIKE]£1,550[/STRIKE]0 -
