Broker Recommendation

Hi all, can anyone tell me best way to find recommended brokers? I have no family or friends locally to ask and can't track any reviews on Google for local companies

thanks, kelly

Used London and Country myself, no real complaints, the fact that I didn't have to pay any fees was obviously the main thing swinging me towards them!

Not sure what additional value the paid brokers would have offered in my case, but maybe if you are in a more complex situation that I had (First time buyer no real credit issues beyond having a bit too much of it!) then that would be something to look into.

If you get a paid broker, make sure they are payment by results i.e mortgage offer

    Where do you live?
  • I've also used London and Mortgages and they were really good.

the earlier you start looking the better; I would give L&C a call and see what they have to offer and also check with other lenders

Depends on your requirements - if you hav any adverse then I recommend simply investment / simply adverse- (they are essex based) they were good for me (got mortgage offer today) . They are whole of market but fees are a little high 1.5k however theyve been v.responsive and dealt with me worrying constantly.

No fees/Cheap doesn't mean they are the right one for you. If you don't have adverse credit and you don't mind the personalised service then go for it.

BUt if you think there might be issues, you get what you pay for.

They work by volume on cases and get paid via commission. Hence they may take on more than they can manage and you certainly won't get your phone calls or emails replied quickly if at all.

Whereas paid reliable brokers only take a limited number a month and ensure you get the service you deserve and pay for.

Certainly wouldn't have got my mortgage if I went via L+C as I am self employed. Plus their reviews are mixed on review websites
