I own my own house and i'm moving house down nearer him and my family and when i get there my boyf is moving in with me.
My question is what do i need to do?
i have been paying my morgate for 4yrs and moving to a slightly cheaper area so i should have about £20K equity in the house
Any ideas???

Have you sold yours? Have you found a new place?
Are there any early repayment charges on your current mortgage. Unless your current mortgage is portable, you may have these to pay.0 -
my house isn't up for sale yet, just finishing it off so should only be a few weeks, the costs are something i need to work out. i think i'm tied in for another few yrs althou the guys at northern rock assured me when i took the morgate i could move with no costs (unless higher) so i will be arguing about it.
i was more thinking should i put his name on the morgate, were do i stand then. i have equity built up etc etcI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammar

I've just moved and 'ported' my Northern rock mortgage too. And on the phone they told me there were no fees, well apart from the £250 porting fee, and the valuation appraisal fee (£365) and the i don't want you overpriced building insurance fee (£25)!!
If you and your boyfriend are setting up house together then I'd imagine he would want his name on the mortgage. You should make an agreement just now of what would happen if you split - say half the equity each minus the deposit you paid.
Good luck!0 -
Am sorry, I've got to say it ... mortgage!!!Gone ... or have I?0
