Cleanng my carpet with carpet cleaing machine what is best way

Options
I have a vax cleaner, only 2 real things I wanted to do, when taking computer apart I have a mark on the carpet(the thermal grease) literally a square on the carpet and wiping it just spreads it.

Other thing is the carpet in living room and main bedroom is darkened but not dirty as such, I can tell as the spare bedroom that gets used about 2 days a month looks much lighter in colour.

One I need cheap carpet cleaing product, two I need to know if its possible to clean that stain easily.

    Can't help with the stain

I clean my carpets with a machine. Vac the carpet first ( move as much furniture as you can ) then use the vac, going slowly. Now all those carpet shampoos say no rinse, but if you don't they can get a bit crunchie underfoot so finish off with a once over of just clean water in the machine

I make sure I do mine on a day I can keep all the windows open to make sure it dries fast, although the carpet wouldn't be sodden

the product is very good. I find you need a couple of bottles to do a largish living room.
