Help! YBS tell me I can port mortgage, then tell me I can't for some bizarre reason

It can be debated until the cows come home but its their money and their rules. I do not mean that to come across as being rude but the priority is getting you in the new place without paying £7k in costs, so whilst there is no issue having an argument, complaining and appealing its worth looking at other options as there is no guarantee they will back down.

Thanks ACG, is there a broker you can recommend in this kind of scenario?

Assuming the income is there to support it I would think most brokers would be able to deal with it. Best to avoid estate agent based brokers in the main but aside from that any broker with some experience should be able to get it done.
