    Hi there
I dont know if you have any, but chewing fresh parsley usually works..just make sure you dont leave any green bits in your teeth:D ...could be worse than garlic breath in an interview:rotfl:

  • The problem with garlic is that the active compounds are expelled through the lungs, which is why it is so difficult to mask the smell.

Chewing parsley is supposed to help, I can't vouch for its effectiveness tho I just let everyone else suffer :D

  • You might be best off just making a joke out of it at the interview!

I loathe the smell of garlic and can smell it at ten paces even if the person has eaten parsley, mints, mouthwash etc etc.

Could be an ice breaker maybe at your interview?

Put a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil or peppermint food essence into your (not very hot) bath to help counteract any garlic coming from pores. (Or mix with a dab of shower gel on your sponge/body buffer/whatever if you prefer to shower). Chewing parsley tends to work better than mouth wash because you actually ingest it. If you have time then you can get capsules of parsley from some health food shops, which saves you munching it if you find the taste bitter - this is the sort of thing:
    "3. Neutralise nasty niffs
If you don’t want to share the pungent aromas of last nights curry or this mornings cigarettes, try a supplement containing parsley, this contains chlorophyll, the green compound found in leaves and stems in plants. Chlorophyll doesn’t just work to cover up smells but helps neutralise odour and toxins in the intestinal tract. Also Try Holland & Barrett Breath Check capsules, priced £4.99 for 150 capsules, containing parsley and sunflower oil to help keep breath fresh. "

hi,went for interview after eating god knows how many mints and the first thing the fella said to me was you,ll have to excuse the smell of garlic.i had a curry for tea last night.told him what i,d been doing and why which gave him a laugh so the interview got off to a good start.am not vry good at interviews, especially when they ask what attributs i would bring to his department(not very good at banging my on drum).so i was worrying that it wasn,t going well but at the end he said he was pleased with what he,d heard and would be in touch for the next round of interviews.:j yipee.thanks for all the advice folks.
