Can you double up on the government schemes?
I've opened an ISA and been given the AIP by halifax, can i use both help to buy schemes together?

you and your partner ! can both open a Help To Buy ISA and use them as a deposit towards your new home0

At what point do we expect the H2B ISA bonus to be released- is it at exchange or completion? also, in the context of new builds where there is often a longer period between the two.
thanks0 -
On completion. You'll need to find the deposit.0

My partner and I are also wanting to do the same thing, we are trying to purchase a new build house with the help to buy equity scheme and also each have a help to buy ISA with £1600 in; so in theory we currently qualify for £400 bonus each!
However we've read that this is limited to house purchases up to the value of 250k; So we are now awaiting the solicitor confirming if we can even get the bonus, as the house price is just over the limit..
I am hoping that as in theory we are only purchasing 80% because of the equity scheme that it is based on that amount, in which case we would qualify. - It's probably wishful thinking but we can hope! £800 is a lot of money to lose!0 -
You aren't purchasing 80%.
You are purchasing 100% with a second charge over your home for 20%. That's just another mortgage, same as your first charge mortgage with a "normal" lender.I am a mortgage broker.
