DMP and Budget Sheet and Phone Calls and Text !

Hi, I need a budget planning sheet so I can get a DMP sorted for my husband, the only one I can find is on the National Debt site and I cant download it in the format it is in, does anyone have one in Excel that I could get a copy of ?

Also as we are in the process of setting up this DMP we have been getting calls and texts from people he owes money to, one in particular Capital One are being really really awful, they are calling every single day (sundays and bank holidays) and they are calling 22 times a day and sending 22 texts !!, we are both out at work so rarely answer the calls, but when we do answer they just hang up !, I did manage to speak to one of them yesterday and they said that they are allowed by law to call 22 times a day !!, how awful is that !

they most certainly are NOT allowed to harrass you via phonecalls its a breach of various laws that are there to protect your rights

if you have a contact address I usually find this letter works well

    ----
    "Dear

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the telephone calls that I have received from your company.

I am now formally requesting that all further correspondence be made in writing only.

I demand that these phone calls stop immediately. I am familiar with the terms of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1970 and I believe your harassment places you in breach of these acts.

If you continue to call, you will also be in breach of the Wireless Telegraphy Act (1949) and, as such, I will report you to both Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading.

Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.

You will be deemed to have been served notice of my request and I will deem it served by (FULL DATE), I am advising you that any calls received after this date will be recorded with the intention of them being used as evidence.

    Yours faithfully,"

**make sure once you send them you send recorded/signed for...least you then have comeback if they say they never received letters**

The link below is to an excel workbook for the "Common Financial Statement".

This is commonly used by professional debt advisor's to work out your budget and any 'pro rata' DMP style payments. It asks for advisor's name and organisation etc, but there is no reason why you can't leave these blank.

As well as insisting on communication in writing only, it would be worth reading the Office of Fair Trading guidance on fair practices in debt collection.
