    Morning all
Judi I think its lovely that your DGS is named after you my three have my parents names as there middle names .
Island Maid you must be very proud she looks like she is having a great time
Camelot I hope that one day your situation changes and you get to see the little ones
Tru there are 4 couples in our dog walking group so its nice and small and we all live down the same road we are lucky as we have fields behind us although i dont know how much longer they will be there as we are supposed to be having the new Thames crossing coming through the village
Right today i will be cleaning the blinds just little jobs as i seem to have caught a bit of a cough and cold have to keep stopping to blow my nose . Dinner tonight will be pork chops ,onions mash and broccoli
    Have a great day
  • Am here a bit late, have been a busy bee and done all the ironing. One more wash load has been on the line but was trying to blow itself away. That was almost dry and is indoors now, another load to finish. Have had a post-shower scrubette in the bathroom too, nobody else notices but I like a clean bathroom.

Gers I hope you are ok in this stormy weather, I hate being blown about and often think I might prefer rain without the gale.

Judi and Island maid, lovely photos and congratulations to Camelot, hope things change.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Afternoon (((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Busy morning one way or another. OH slept most of the night, a ccouple of coughs around 5.30. We were up just after 8. Laundry out on the whirly, its dried, now airing before I put it away. DStew preparred for tonight and veggies done, Fire laid.

OH was out in the garden, he cut the grass at the back, then gernarally mucked out out there for an hour or so.

Lentil soup for lunch, there is enough left for tomorrow. I sliced the loaf I made yesterday, its in the freezer now.

OH had his siesta, I was working on a block for the quilting workshop in March. I now need to write out the instructions.

Have a lamb hotpot with lots of mushrooms and peppers simmering for later on.

Having another very quiet day as can't seem to get motivated.Decided as it was so windy and cold outside I might as well stay indoors and be cosy.

Had a phone call from dd who is working abroad for a few days and she seems in good form and likes two of the dresses we ordered online so very pleased as she hates shopping in big stores and does not really have the time to spare.

I had a look at the D*B**h*ms sale which is ending very soon and have ordered four nice tops in a size down and am determined to keep losing weight.

    Hugs to all

Good afternoon everyone, had a nice morning tidying up indoors and de-cluttering. Postman brought me two nice surprises, a voucher for a pot of tea for two and two scones from Dobbies as a 'birthday treat' for next week :) and I had a free pair of tickets to a sewing and handicrafts exhibition in April at the Excel place in London.

I shall probably give them to my friend as she does quilting and likes going to things like that(she also lives with easier access to there as well than I do.) But still nice to get the odd freebie now and again :):)

DGS have had their after school snack so I can now sit and drink my coffee and play on my lap-top :)

Tonight its quiz night so no cooking for me as I get a meal there inclusive of the price :) Tuesdays are my 'night off' from cooking :)

Island maid you must be so proud of your DD and she will be so grown up when she comes home . Africa changes everyones ideas about the West.

My late OH used to work on contract in the Sudan back in the 1980s and when he came home it was so odd to hear him tell of all of the things he had experienced and seen. For the rest of his life he was always saying about how much we in the West take ordinary things for granted like, electrcity ,water and even just a daily newspaper. He spent some of the time in Khartoum and a lot of time in Port Sudan on the coast, where even basic things were often in very short supply.

Judi what an honour to use your name like that for your new grandchild

Camelot I feel for you my dear ,maybe one day you will get that knock on the door I do hope so.One never can tell how life changes in a very short time

I do hope those who are experiencing the winter weather are safe and warm and dry. This really has been an awful time for so many folk this year.

In Kent today although I can see a patchy blue sky outside at the moment, the wind is a bit sharp, but nothing to what so many people are getting.

Hope everyone is having a good day though ,no matter what
take care and keep warm if you can

    Imbolc Blessings, everyone.
We shall be lighting candles shortly, and there's a bottle of champagne (@ldi's finest) in the fridge.;)

Mr LW has had today as annual leave; been to get a few bits of grocery, and he's also taken a whole heap of stuff to the tip, so the shed can now be accessed again, and there are a few less cardboard boxes cluttering up the loft.

I usually like to try and plant something on Imbolc, but it's so soggy and awful out there, I may have to content myself with a dish of cress seeds on the windowsill.:D I kept the little plastic trays one of the dogs' food came in (they'd go in the recycling otherwise) - ideal for cress seeds. :money:

    Hi guys,
Judi: Lovely that your grandchild is named after you. My grandson is called Evan Philip Howard. His maternal grandfather and great-grandfather are called "John" (Evan is the Welsh version of John )
His paternal grandfather is Philip, and his step-grandfather is Howard. So he's named after all of them!

Had a great charity shop bargain today. A cream Gina Bacconi jacket for £6! Worth £150. So well pleased!
Feet are sore today so in bed with the cat sitting on me at the moment :rotfl:

Had an eye test today, right eye the same, left has improved a bit so no new glasses needed. Glad about that, saved me some money!:T

Hope everyone is okay with the wind. Not too bad here in Hastings.

Going out to lunch tomorrow so may not get on here till later.

    Take care all.
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T
