First Payday since the light was turned on!

Finally got to pay day!!

For the first time in soooo many years I have gone online and paid all of my bills before I have the chance to get the money out and spend!! I did the budget planner and have transfered the money I need to save to my husbands savings account so I cannot touch it (and he is very good with dosh and is under strict orders not to let me touch it!)

I am getting my money for the month out tomorrow and giving to hubbie who will give me my weekly allowance every Friday. I know it sounds a bit drastic but I know this is the only way it will work for me.

Amazing but I feel more in control then I have done for ages and havent paid much off the debt yet!! But I have paid more than the minimum payment on everything except the fixed loans!!!

Sad but true I feel ever so slightly holier than though at the moment. :j

Thank you all for your continued advice and support. xx

It's quite a buzz when you first take charge of your finances...well done and hope you manage to stick to your budgets and keep going with the overpayments. :T

Watch out you are on the 1st step to becoming a full blown MSE addict. I have to have my daily fix of reading threads, and I pick up loads of useful tips as well.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

I know the feeling - I was updating my spreadsheets last night and checked online banking again and I'd got paid - about 11.30 and it was such a relief. We're not in debt (other than mortgage and student loans  ) but it's been really tight the last couple of months for various reasons and because I was being paid weekly (and storing the money in an online saver until the start of the next month) and OH gets his money quarterly (it's a grant) and transfers it each month into our current account and so the last couple of months we've been transferring it all a bit before the start of the month which made Augsut very tight but we did it and for September there's a budget in place.

Good luck with September and may the light keep shining brightly :A
