Hi All,
Im a mobile engineer.
my working hours are 8-4:30pm with 30min unpaid break.
if im travelling 6am -8am i am unpaid the same from 4.30pm-8:30pm, just used these times as an example.
is their any law to this or is this just company terms?

I literally read something this afternoon that it can only count as your working hours if you don't have a set place of work and have to travel to different locations0

We have a base but support customers throughout uk, and told that OT will be paid if working but not travelling0

the company I used to work for used to pay travelling time if anyone covered another store but withdrew it from 31st of December although you get the time back in lieu"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

Do you leave from home to first job or do you go into base?

It depends on where job is, sometimes direct from home0

Providing you are paid more than NMW (and I suspect you are) and your examples are say once a week only then I would simply make you salaried and allow the inclusion of travelling time into this- Unlikely to put you below NMW across a pay period.Don't trust a forum for advice.
