"Dear Sir / Madame,
I am writing to ask if you have or are likely to have any vacancies for a Early Years Practitoner.
I am fully qualified as a Level 3 Child Care and Education Practitioner which I completed in 2014.
I then went onto gain some experience of working in a child care setting as nursery nurse bank staff from August 2014 until November 2014 as I became employed to a nursery where I currently am.
I am looking for new employment as I would like to expand on my skills attained from my current employment and to pursue new challenges, experience and challenges that would enable me to become more efficient and stronger in my practice when working in a child care setting.
Working with children has been a lifelong passion of mine as I am intrigued by the way they learn from the seven different areas of development, to learn how to see the world from their eyes and for them to have the opportunities for them to just be children.
I have enclosed my CV and look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
(my name here)"

I would tailor it specifically to the person if I knew their details.
I would like a new job because although my job is fantastic,
There's a lot of things that are happening that I don't agree
with and I feel like it's time to move onto somewhere new and more local to me.
How would I tailor this email to retail ?
I am applying for both retail & childcare because I am happy with any of those job roles.
Thank you in advance.

I wouldn't send that, I'd personalise such contact.
Dear Miss X, I've read with enthusiasm about the organisation... Blah Blah0 -
What if it doesn't give any name at all?MarNSD 5/20 | EF 3-6m #27 & EF #179 £212.35 / £2,700 | FH: £20.00 / £10,000 | Car £51.66 / £200 | Xmas £0.00 / £100.000

Ring places up and say you want to send a CV. Ask for a name and ask whether it would be better to post or email.
I don't think you need the "Working with children has been a lifelong passion of mine..." paragraph. People get sick of reading stuff like that. I also think "look forward to hearing from you" isn't quite right for a speculative email/letter. I'd go for something like "I enclose my CV and hope that you will consider me for any current or future opportunities."
Much better to take your CV in at a time when places won't be very busy. Ask for a chat with the manager, tell them how you'd love to work for them, ask a few questions.0
