Working near Southwark - where to rent?
Hello everyone
I'll soon be working close to Southwark, Jubilee station.
I'd be looking to rent a 2-bedroom apartment in London and I am weighing my options.
I would rather keep my commute on a single journey (tube, or 20 minute walking distance max).
I know that city center apartments in the Waterloo/Southwark area go between 1500-1700. Given how I'd look for a flatmate to split the costs, that's something I could live with.
However I am wondering if there are any better alternatives (safety wise, money wise, quality of life wise) along the jubilee line I could consider.
Any advice is more than welcome, and thank you in advance

safety wise, I can't comment. money wise, it's going to be expensive wherever you go, but you usually pay extra for being very close to your job. quality of life wise, every time I go to London I wonder how I ever managed to commute ...However I am wondering if there are any better alternatives (safety wise, money wise, quality of life wise) along the jubilee line I could consider.
Having said that, when DS2 moved to London he booked a week in a hostel while he looked round for a flatshare. If you went for one with a private room that could even be a medium term option. Whenever he's had to move I've suggested looking through work to see if anyone wants a flatmate, but that doesn't seem to suit him.Signature removed for peace of mind0
