Just wondered if people have entered these from bridal sites/magazines when like me they are cheekily, happily married?
I generally find any wedding info (ie dates, location) is optional so it's not like you have to lie but I do feel a bit naughty entering them!!
I looked at one the other day and the prize at the value of £10,00 was emense, and other than a few bits, (including a beautiful wedding band which I did ooooo at as I have lost mine) most parts were more non wedding related and just really good prizes, but I chickened out at the last minute in case I won and the phoned and asked which venue I wanted my wedding cake delivered to lol!!!
What does everybody else do??

It's a tough one, I find in the terms there's nothing clear to suggest it has to be your "first" wedding, i.e you could use the prizes / package to get remarried/reaffirm your vows or terms to suggest the prizes have to be used at a wedding, other than the big packages of course
Also looking at it from the opposite perspective. A friend of mine enters all the wedding package comps despite the fact her and her partner aren't engaged because they are comfortable knowing they want to get married, don't want the pressure of being engaged/the nagging to set a date etc knowing they can't possibly afford a wedding but should they win one or their finances change then they would get engaged and married etc. As a single person I don't enter wedding related ones, ocassionally I'll enter for a holiday voucher if terms don't state it's for a honeymoon only. And if I didn't qualify i.e no wedding/marriage they would redraw anyways.0 -
I enter comps on wedding sites that aren't directly related to weddings - e.g beauty products, lingerie, weekend stays that aren't honeymoons. However, actual wedding stuff and honeymoon ones I'll leave - hopefully karma sticks around until I decide to get married one day!!0

I sometimes enter the make-up or perfume ones but never actual Bridal/Wedding bits. I always hope these will go to people who are struggling to pay for their big day & hopefully (if I ever find Mr Right) I will win a few bits when I need them.0

I enter whatever I will be able to use - the honeymoons all look fab and where it doesn't state that you have to be on honeymoon I enter them - I enter all that I am able to - as others have said at lot of the prizes are non wedding related - fingers crossed - good luck to all x0

as i'm engaged and hoping to get married in the next year or two if i can save up the pennies, i enter all of them that i can find
it's a tough one - i think if i was happily married i'd leave the honeymoons and wedding packages but enter the rest - but it's all personal preference. i wouldn't begrudge someone winning if the T&Cs didn't specifically exclude them, just as i don't begrudge someone winning something they don't actually want (and either give away or sell) - but there are lots of people on here who don't agree with that sort of thing====================================

as posted on the other threadIf something is clear from the competition description it doesn't have to be stated in the T&C's as well.
The Sun were found against for a restriction on what children could be taken on a family holiday but from the judgement just the competition description was enough to communicate that children would be expected to be taken
So if the description states honeymoon/wedding that's probably enough to allow them to only award the prize to those who qualify.
Haywards are running a competition for a £100 tesco voucher the comp text is clearBuy any Haywards product in your local Tesco store and upload your proof of purchase for a chance to win
but the T&C's make no mention of needing a Tesco receiptThis Promotion is open to legal residents of England and Wales aged 18 or over.....
To Enter: Purchase any Haywards product, then go to .... and upload a picture the receipt (showing the date and the Haywards product) .....0 -
fair enough, i hadn't read that thread i must admit, nor was i aware of that.====================================

I won a competition to win a honeymoon a few years ago - I'd entered at a wedding fair. We were engaged and planning our wedding, but I had to take the prize before our wedding date as our wedding date was over a year away, so we couldn't have it as our honeymoon anyway. We were still allowed the prize though and had a lovely holiday before our wedding!
However, I do tend to avoid the wedding based competitions now.
That is also interesting to know about the 'family' holiday competitions. I've often wondered about these. There are some that say a maximum of 2 adults 2 children and some that just say 4 people without specifying children, so it can get quite confusing!2015 wins: set of Baileys Prize for Fiction shortlist books, 2 books (Goodreads), case of Tornado energy drink, The Incomplete Tim Key book, Spoilt Pig tote bag, British Library exhibition tickets, Pixels Limited Edition Blu Ray0 -
