Acquire Learning Diploma - Should I Enrol?

Have any of you heard of a company called Acquire Learning? I was contacted by them last week, and they invited me to enrol on a distance learning course, which is funded by the government and specifically aimed at people over 24 who want to improve their job prospects. They have recommended I study for the Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management, which, they say, will help me get a job. They also said they provide a mentor who will help me with job interviews, applying for vacancies etc.
As I have no actual managerial experience (all my work has been clerical), I was just wondering the course would be really beneficial to me. I asked if I would have to pay a course fee, but they told me that I would not pay anything until my income reached £21,000 and over, and those fees would be taken via the tax system.
So what do you all think? Should I enrol or not?

Oh, OK. So you've never heard of this government backed scheme for people over 24 then?
Have you?
Its effectively a student loan they are getting you to take on and sell you a 'course' in the process.
You need to do things the other way around. Decide what your career strategy is, what you want to do and what your career objectives are and then work out what course, training etc is most appropriate, rather than someone trying to sell you a course and you trying to justify it to yourself.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Well, no, I hadn't heard of it until this company contacted me. Actually, what I most want to do is to get a job in the legal field, as I have some experience here. I especially want to train to be a Legal Secretary, but the courses are so expensive and I am not sure whether this government scheme for over 24s covers Legal Secretary training.Have you?
