I think they will be able to see that, especially given the nature of the offence. They are probably looking more for something which suggests dishonesty.

I contract for a bank at the moment and the amount of hoops I had to jump with the references, dbs etc.

Just so it's clear, self defence (which includes the defence of another), in which it is likely, or you feel it is likely, that violence is imminent - is not common assault.


So if you have such a conviction, it's best to be upfront about it.


It's not stopped you working in education, so I wouldn't worry
