Hi everyone, thanks for reading my thread.
I am around 4000 pounds under the line:
- 1500 unpaid OD
- 300 left to pay for computer
- two more years to pay 40 per month for mobile
Unfortunetely, for family reasons I have had to move back to Hungary. I don't work and cannot pay that debts and bills. I know we are all should pay debts off and I am planning to come back to UK within year or two but for now that is not an option.
I am affraid to be chased by debt collectors and bailifs here in Hungary. Is that possible?
Many thanks for any reply

Hi,
Bayliffs no, debt collectors maybe, not much they can do to you in Hungary, do what you have to do, face any consequences later.
If they want to pursue you for the debt they have 5 years to do so as the statute of limitation in Hungary is 5 years. If they chased you for the debts then it could potentially take anything up to a year, remember everything has to be translated into Hungarian in order to pursue the debt in Hungary, and then translated back into English. It could potentially cost more to chase you than the debt is worth!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
