Onions in a food processor

Hi,
I am currently unable to chop onions due to an illness and I wanted something that would chop them for me. I purchased a Magic Bullet but that tends to puree them instead of chopping them, so my question is if I bought a food processor would that chop onions for me and if so how much would I have to do in the way of preparation to the onion before it goes into the processor?
Thanks in advance.

You'd have to take the top and bottom off, and peel it, and probably chop it into quarters. I've often done onions like this and it works quite well, it's handy if you've got a lot to do.
It's not OS but you can buy frozen ready chopped onion, they're not cheap but they're not *that* expensive, and then you'd have no prep at all.0 -
yes they are reasonably priced in iceland. Double bag them though as they stink your freezer out!0

i have a hand blender set which has a chopper bowl that i use for onions you have to peel, top & tail then cut in half, but then i have great chopped onion, you can on mine use 1 for really large or 12 for really small mush. I love it though.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

I have a chopper from Ikea (I tried the online Cat but couldn't find it, but I only got it at the beginning of the year) It does need some downward pressure though.
I have seen something called an Alligator I think which dices a whole onion - after the top, bottom and outer skin have been removed.
I also chop onions in my FP when I have a lot to do.

Thanks for the replies, think I will go down the food processor route as I don't have the space in my freezer to store frozen onions.
All I have to do now is decide which one to buy!0
