Lost online password self assessment

Does anyone know if a new password will come back online immediately or is there a waiting time. Am reluctant to ask for one another becomes immediately invalid and post takes seven days...

    It says they can provide you with one online if "online
    we can only re-issue your password online if you can provide the email address we hold for your Online Government Account"

    Eighth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Photogenic Name Dropper
    When logging on - choose the lost password facility. The first half of a temporary password will appear on screen and the second half will be emailed. Upon entering this password you will be prompted to change it.
