CP Plus - Not Parked in Designated Parking Space

My wife yesterday managed to pick up a PCN on the windscreen from CP Plus for contravention 5 (IIRC) - Not parked in designated parking parking space.
Fee reduced £20 if paid within 2 weeks, otherwise £40.

This was in a hospital car park (Chertsey), she is agency staff and does not have a permit, but she did buy a ticket. No spaces were available before her shift so she parked at the end of a row of cars in a muddy patch, but not obstructing anyone.

What is the best course of action to take with this one?

Thanks

    Easy peasy.

CP Plus don't use 'keeper liability' wording and will not send a Notice to Keeper out to the keeper at all, if you appeal around day 26 as explained in the NEWBIES thread, by email to CP Plus WITHOUT naming the driver nor implying who parked the car.

Then CP Plus will reject the appeal and then the keeper has a slam dunk win at POPLA because the driver has never been identified yet CP Plus won't have served a NTK. All explained there but come back for more guidance at POPLA stage.

First stage appeal is simple and already written for the registered keeper (you or your wife?). Do not give the 'story of what happened' and DO NOT let her appeal admitting who was driving.

Best if you read the NEWBIES thread even if it takes some re-reading over the weekend.

Thanks all - I've read the newbie thread, so I think I have a clear understanding of the process:
Email CP Plus on day 26, using the blue letter template from the newbie thread just mentioning signage and not giving away the driver?

Wife is registered keeper, so I'll get her to write and send the email.

    Thanks

Yep, all of the above is correct. Make sure it is a cut and paste with no additions/changes to the BPA template. She will need to put her name at the bottom but nothing else.

And her POSTAL address and anything else the stupid appeals process calls for (read what CP Plus say must be included).
