Advice Needed re Argos

Am hoping that someone on here will be able to help me.

I placed an order for a new bed for dd today from Argos. When I went to check out and place the order I noticed that the price they were charging me was £40 less than what was in the catalogue/online. It all went through ok and I got an e-mail saying they would take the amount from my credit card and call me to arrange delivery. :j

I am now wondering if they will honour the price or try and charge me the full price. Will they have to stand by what was on the order form and e-mail confirmation or is their a clause to say they can change the price if an error is made? I can't see anything is the t&c.

Would be grateful if anyone was able to offer me any advice so that I am forearmed if I need to challenge them.

At the end of the day we want the bed and were prepared to pay full price but if they have made an error then that is their fault and not mine (or is it??!)

Many thanks

This might sound a bit confusing as I'm not that good at explaining things clearly, but the price you pay should be the price shown when you order the item.

This isn't the same for a reserved item as the price you pay for that is the price in store when you go to pay for it.

In your case as you gave your credit card details today, then they should sell it at today's price. If possible try to keep the details of the price you were supposed to be charged in case they charge you the full price. This shouldn't happen, but at least you have some back-up in case it does.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Spandit for your reply. I have kept the e-mails and the order confirmation screen.
I got a call from them this afternoon to arrange delivery, nothing was said about the price so am just waiting to see what they charge my credit card with.
