This crisis feels young. It doesn’t even have a name yet. It’s happening by stealth

The best way to play all this is, simply, to hold cash, real assets fine art, gold and silver.
Or as fine art on silver, for example, micro mintages, semi numismatic art silver bullion.
Or you could spend your money and just enjoy yourself, life is short and you only get one go at it. Be happy and use your accummulated wealth to have a good time, instead of stressing out over trying to accumulate even more.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

A fund manager suggested to me the other day that this might be “the one”, the crisis that’s been coming for so long but keeps getting put off. Who knows, maybe it is.
But I make the observation that the selling is relentless. If this crisis really gets going, then the outlook for property is ugly. Deflation in oil is going to catch up and there will be similar deflation in property.

You're very protective over bitcoin. There are many many variants of digital currencies around, and many that don't suffer the defences of bitcoin. So why bitcoin in particular over any of the others?0 -

Oh, are we having another crisis today? I must have missed it. Don't tell me it's the:
- Zika virus in Latin America crisis
- Refugee crisis in the Middle East
- Housing crisis in the UK
- GP Practice crisis over junior pay
- Care home crisis due to private firms
- Student loan crisis
- Defra's pollution crisis
- EU Migrant crisis
- Flint water crisis in the US
- Mental health crisis
- The NHS National Council of England & Wales Hospital Governors NHS Foundation Trust identity crisis
Whatever it is, I'm sure if they bang on about it in the mainstream media for long enough it's bound to gain traction and sell a few more papers...0 -
If the crisis doesn't have a name then perhaps we could have a naming competition, followed by a naming ceremony?
I vote Ethelwulf for a boy (the Saxon kings had some good names) or Doris for a girl (old lady names are great). I'm assuming the crises alternate gender like hurricanes. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
I would not care if there was a crash or large falls in the housing market, it would need to be 50% for me to get into negative equity, I also would not care as I think houses are too expensive in the UK.
But there is a shortage of houses and a growing population, so unless the build rapid or the BTL's sell up I can't see there being any massive falls of 50%0
