Morning all!

Was a bit lazy last night as when I got home OH had cleaned most of the house! So instead I made some healthy snacks using ingredients I had, which I'm not sure are going to last long in my house! Deliciously Ella energy balls - all natural ingredients, healthy and taste amazing (and they have cacoa powder in so taste super chocolatey!)

Today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Make a smoothie for breakfast - maybe this is the way forward for me as I can dash around the house in my normal morning state of panic but still "eat" it!
* Take lunch to work
* Charge phone in work
* Check FPL
* Drink lots of water at work
* If I get paid today - do money shuffle including paying off some debt and then update spreadsheet, signature and snowball
* Go to circuits
* Dinner from stores
* Put clean washing away
* Read some more of my book so I can re-gift it to SIL who's birthday is next month - she completely wont mind that it's re-gifted provided I've actually read it!

Think that's everything for today. Hope you all have a great day!
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

Debt-free and Proud!
Hello!

Sorry I haven't been updating for a while, I've had an insane couple of weeks that has just been so busy.

Back to the debt busting. Payday today. :) This is great, because yesterday I still had lots of money in my account to pay for things like the heating oil, my car insurance allowance and remaining budget for cash, groceries and petrol. I don't think I've ever had a period in my life where I've got to the end of the month and still been a few hundred pounds in credit! This is a complete change around for me, and a milestone in my budgeting/debt busting. Today I need to tax the car, pay the heating oil and a few other errands. But I have cash waiting to pay for all of these things that we've saved up over the year - it's an amazing feeling to be in complete control of every penny of your spending.

This morning i have sat down and done my monthly YNAB budget. Not sure about this new online thing. It has some nice features, but they've also made a lot of things much more cumbersome to use. Anyway, it's still so good at helping me get organised it is totally worth it. This month, I am going to try and pay a mighty £1200 off my debt. After about 3 months of solid debt busting and budgeting, our debts have decreased by around £3000 - by the end of Jan, it will be over £4000 of debt repaid.

Last night I even convinced the OH to use YNAB for her accounts. We are now a debt busting and money organised family.

Take care everyone!

• Morning all (just ;)) hope everyone is well - it's nearly the weekend :T Apologies for shocking you DNMS about the tax return, nothing like being last minute! I had all the stuff, I was just procrastinating, which is unlike me. All done now though with loads of time left (well 4 days :rotfl:)

My list today:

Check banking, update sheet
RM survey to post, will pay in some money and a cheque whist at PO and post letter with free stamps from survey ;)
Meals from stores
Overpayment to CC from money paid in to PO
washing out on airer
try and fix thermostat for heating. I know it's been mild but last night it was telling me it was 23 degrees inside at 10pm with no heating on. I can safely say that from under my blanket, it was wrong :o
Check surveys an FPL
One thing from Jan list
Free run before school collection, working from home so should be able to fit this in
Re-arranged night out with friend tonight, one round only so cheap night all round
See if I can find an old pillow case to sew up for draught excluder (may write this on my January list so I stop forgetting)

Think thats all, have a good day everyone

Jonno :)
• Thanks for starting Ally - enjoy spending some much needed focus on you/ OH/ the future over the next two weeks :)

Today is pay day so I've updated my signature, checked banking and transferred money into various pots. I now officially only have £38.76 of debt to pay! This will come out with my last loan payment on 7th March - my DFD :j
Wedding pot is on track. We had another RSVP back yesterday so I've updated the list
It probably won't be a NSD as I think we're going to ALDI tonight. We have a strict food budget this month so I'll need to do a list before we go
I might fill the car up with petrol or leave this until Saturday. She needs cleaning inside and out too!
FPL and surveys to do
I got up early enough to have breakfast this morning :beer:
2 hours overtime at work
Post my cousin's wedding anniversary card
STILL haven't done any ironing :o

Think that's it for now

well done on the debt busting Princess pea nice work :T:T:T:D

Hello there my gorgeousnesses :hello:

Thanks for starting us off Ally. Have a great time off! :T

Big hellos to everyone else.

My post might look weird today... I'm writing it in my coding tool because I'm 'working' ;)
In seriousness, writing this down helps me do my work because it helps clear my mind!!

Bob – Thanks for your msg yesterday. I’ve been chopping and changing about the flat – being sure
I want to sell etc, but I just don’t think I can. :( I thought if I had about £5k or £6k negative
equity then I could sell and pay that off within the next year or two, especially considering it costs
me about £2k for each year I keep it, but after talking to a local EA I think I’m best keeping it
for the time being as after selling, fees, paying out while it’s empty etc it’s going to cost me
more like £13k. :( I can’t face the thought of that on top of what I already owe tbh. :(
Plan B is now in progress – rent it out for 12m and try to save min £100 a month for it (£100 already
goes towards mgt charge and mortgage shortfall) so next year at this time I'll hopefully have a bit
of a buffer to help me through empty times... The rental market does seem a better option for me and
hopefully it will mean it won't be empty for as long. Ho hum...

Sorry for my waffle... Here's my list:

:) Got a freebie through the door from survey Co :T
:) Brekkie at work - free milk :cool:
:) Packed lunch - veggie soup, banana, crisps :A
:) Teaching tonight - hopefully 2 newbies :T
:) Bit of promo for weekend's course :j
:) Replied to pal to say I can't make a course she is running :(
:) @ldi shop - defo need to cut down on grocery bills for Feb!
:) Budget planning for Feb - v excited about this cos I am a geek :D

lambda – I hear ya re YNAB – I’m the same as you this month – pay day tomorrow and still money left – don’t even feel like I’ve been scrimping and scarping or panicking about payday. O M G it’s a miracle! :rotfl: OH and I just use the same login and keep everything together that way.

Afternoon all.

As i have the day of work today, I set about replacing the door seal on the washing machine as the original one had ripped, I cant beleive how much the charge to do such a simple task.

I was originally quoted prices of £80+ to have the seal replaced, but after spending a few minutes googling I managed to get a brand new, original seal for the small sum of £21.98 including p&p, and after half an hour the job was complete, just got to get all the washing done for when the wife and kids get home.

I've also cancelled one of my many CC's as that ones now paid off, as well as paying off the CC, I've also opened a new bank account to benefit from the switch incentive, which once paid into my account, this will also go towards paying off one of my CC's.
YNAB is my new best friend. :)
• Wonder if anyone can help. I find I throw a lot of fresh things away as they don't get used and am trying to be more efficient with food. Not waste!

I have some fresh red chillis which won't be used until next week and will probably go funny by then. Is there anything I can do with them to preserve them?
