Hi Guys
Following some help from here i am due to start a DMP soon but need some help with bank accounts.
Currently i have two Barclays Accounts,
Current Account - £2,000 overdraft (also have Barclaycard with them)
i use this account to pay my own personal bills and have my salary paid into this
Cash card account - I currently use this to pay my household bills for myself and 3 others (they pay bill money each month and i pay the bills from this)
From advice i've been told i need to move my current accounts and bills to a bank i have no debt with. It needs to have a debit card and be able to pay direct debits etc.
Could anyone recommend the best choices?
Thanks!
Edited - i do not have a good credit rating if that affects choices.

The co-op and Virgin both do accounts for people with bad debts who couldn't get an account, as do Barclays but that's not an option I guess. You can't open those accounts online, you have to go into a branch, chances are there isn't a Virgin Branch near you, so it may be Co-op as the only option. I think you may be able to start things rolling over the phone, but I'm pretty sure you need to go into the branch with ID to get the account open.
Double check to see if you could have the account with Barclays, I know people have had, I went bankrupt owning Barclays money and they gave me a bank account so I could still pay bills and have wages paid into an account, just a debit card, no overdraft or anything but that's all you need.
Good luck0 -
Thanks guys, i decided to give one quick try on a major bank and have been accepted by Halifax for there basic bank account.
Hopefully this is a decent account with no known issues?0
