It's funny because I too was brought up not to eat in the street

But I love street food and if I'm somewhere where street food is being sold I will indulge ( indeed I won't eat before we get to said venue)

Where I live now , it's a strict unwritten rule that we don't use the mower or any other outside noisy tool on a Sunday. Pain in the butt if Sunday is the only dry day, but in a way really kind of freeing as it really does make Sunday a rest day
