in Cutting tax
Hi all
My parents are about to liquidate their Ltd company.
As a minor shareholder I am going to perform a share transfer to move 50% of my shares to my wife to lessen the CGT charge.
My parents share proportion is uneven, with her husband holding more shares then her.
She seems to think that they cannot perform a share transfer as ' they both already own shares in the company'.
Due to the additional income her husband receives it would be beneficial from a tax basis if they could indeed 'even' up thier share allocation.
Is this possible?
Thanks

I don't see why it isn't possible.
Need to make sure the transfer occurs before the sale ie the shares are transferred not the proceeds of the sale of the shares.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
