Why are the offers so meat-focused?
Will probably get some leeks if I'm passing, but I won't go out of my way for them.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Because that is how their new "4+4" pick of the week offers are going to work from now on.
4 meat & fish + 4 F&V0 -
I'm going to check their online page tomorrow. I am hoping for Coconut milk and Nori sheets.Lurker extraordinaire! no. 4950

Those fishcakes are often 30% discounted in my local store. Useful size for a meal, but a bit tasteless.0

I use venison sausages to give son's AngloSaxon stew credible meaty flavour without expensive lumps of deer.
I'll load up on leeks so I can batch cook c*ck-a-leekie soup, for which my youngest will behave beautifully...0 -
Just now reading Lidl News. Some odd things.
For example, The Grocer Award 2015, would be better Customer Award 2015.
And funsize bananas, otherwise small fruit that wouldn't look right amongst the standard size, probably all left over at the end of the day, so what do they do. Wrap them in plastic , say they are ideal for children and sell 'em for £1.27 kg against 68pkg normally.
On the other hand good prices for clothes and DIY. A new workbench for £12.99. Unbelievable.0 -
Don't like this new 4+4 at all. The POTW meat offers can be picked up cheaper reduced in Sains, Tesco etc, whereas at 1/2 price it was generally worth getting. Understand in some stores that the 1/2 price meat would go immediately so leaving customers disappointed but never had that issue at my (busy) store. Shame. Ah well.
As others have said, often these meats can be found with the 30% off labels.0 -

Yup, the F&V offers in Aldi are usually a "real" vegetable, part of a meal. It's nice to get this other veg cheap too, but I hope Lidl do as Aldi do in time.0
