Leaving Abbey at end of fixed rate

I'm remortgaging with Halifax which is all agreed, the fixed rate ends with Abbey on 2 October, can I get a redemption statement from Abbey based on payments made up until then? Do I need to give Abbey notice? I know I should ring them but its such an awful customer service experience these days I can't bear the pain and thought someone might know!
Also my last payment is due on 2/10 also, will they take this payment?

If the Halifax deal offers free legal fees, they will take care of all of that for you.
