POC Tax

Options
Hi guys,

So I work my regular job and pay the usual PAYE and things on there, all that is fine. Me and my boss have a little side job dealing with gambling affiliates. He pays me a cut of those profits and puts it through as a bonus, so I then pay PAYE on that too.

I was wondering if that is correct? The profits from this venture are already subject to Point of Consumption Tax which are deducted before it is sent to us. Obviously I'd rather not pay the extra PAYE if I don't have to. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

POC is payable by the operator on income from the gambler

you are an employee of the operator and are therefore in receipt of income from the operator, not income from the gambler

those are 2 completely separate movements of money so yes it is entirely correct you are subject to PAYE on your employee related "bonus"
