Can I sell handmade dolls clothes

I mentioned on Facebook that I was looking to sell handmade dolls clothes and someone commented that as they would have a play value they should be CE tested. Is this so?

I believe that is correct, assuming the clothes are for normal dolls and not specialist collectors dolls which would be for adults only. The clothes are accessories to a toy and subject to the same testing as the toy itself.

There is, for example, a choking risk if buttons or similar could be pulled off.

I understand that you can self test and certify - there is some info on here:

I have bought handmade dolls clothes. I have bought handmade ragdoll and outfits as well. None of them has a ce mark and I really don't care either. Common sense is seriously underrated these days.

I'm surprised any of the selling groups on facebook even care. In my area there are still lots of sellers selling highly dangerous 'baby bling' dummy ribbons and baby bottles and they sell very well. They are an accident waiting to happen .

I agree - however that is not the legal position.... The OP needs to make her own mind up as to whether she wishes to flout the law.
