Tentative steps to possible BR

Hi
I hope that I am able to get some advice as I'm at the end of my tether.
Me and my husband have a current DMP with Stepchange.
I have had and continue to have mental health issues over this time and leading up to contacting Stepchange.
We are funding my son through University and have to give him money towards his accommodation and food.
We have taken on more debt whilst on our DMP which we know was thoughtless and irresponsible and against the agreement but really didn't see anyway other way out at the time.
I am going to have to leave my job in March to retrain as my current one isn't sustainable due to my ill health- This will mean that I will be 600 per month worse off.
I have put our current figures into a stepchange calculator and the recommendation was to go bankrupt.
I have a 18000 loan which was applied for online via our joint account, but logged on in my name. I am currently requesting a copy of this credit agreement to see if my husband is liable for this as its not on his credir report:(. In total my credit owed is appox 21000
My husband owes 7000
We jointly owe 2500.
Depending on the outcome of who owns the £18000 debt, I will possibly go bankrupt, but if we are both owe then we both would.
We live in private rented accommodation, have another teenage son at home and have a car worth £500.
We are currently advising Stepchange of the situation, but feel totally helpless at the moment. I'm trying to keep calm but feel so confused. Can anyone impart some knowledge on me?
I totally know the implications of BR as a last resort, but just need to share our predicament as I can't share it with anyone else... Thank you:(

Can your son get a job whilst studying most students do these days because of the cost. That will cut of wipe out that cost?0

He is trying to get a job and we are searching as well for him but its proving a tad difficult to secure any work at the moment. Hopefully this will change sooner rather than later.
